The Turtle Press, established in the last century with the acquisition of a Chandler & Price 10x15 platen press,
has slowly gathered the supporting equipment needed to operate a 19th-century Print Shop,
including instructional volumes, exhortational broadsheets, various sorts of type and cuts,
antediluvian cabinets and furnishings, and many good Friends, who have provided help and encouragement.
The Turtle Press specializes in the usual Ephemera:
calling and business cards, wedding invitations, and chap books.
To celebrate the 250th anniversary of the birth of Mozart, the Turtle Press has printed a limited edition
of the report written in 1769 by the Hon. Daines Barrington of his encounter with the young
musical prodigy, Mozart. The Turtle Press volume is titled
Account of a Very Remarkable Young Musician.
